Inventory Controller

  • Full time, permanent
  • £26,000 – £28,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working potential, based in Central London

We are looking to recruit an experienced Stock Controller to take responsibility for the stock integrity and maintenance of Thames & Hudson’s beautiful, award-winning books, as well as titles held on behalf of our distributed clients internationally. This is a pivotal role, based in our Central London office, with regular liaison with staff and stakeholders inside and outside of the organisation, including the Sales, Production and Finance departments.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a rigorous stock control process and providing updates on the company’s overall stock profile
  • Analysing and modelling data to report on and ensure stock integrity at all times
  • Acting as the central point of contact for queries about title availability and stock accuracy
  • Monitoring daily goods-in receipts and helping to resolve non-compliance issues
  • Processing drop shipments for new titles and reprints
  • Preparing stock reorders for the distributed publisher team

What we’re looking for:

  • Substantial stock reconciliation experience, gained either in book publishing or a similar international retail product distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Numerate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
  • Tech-smart and adept at report writing in Power BI or comparable software
  • Accurate, meticulous and detail-orientated
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident and quick to learn
  • Proactive and able to work on your own initiative

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has relevant experience either in publishing or within non-book products, to develop their career within stock management. There is scope to make changes and improvements, as well as take on greater responsibilities.
