Senior Publicity Manager

- Salary: £33 – 36k, depending on experience

We are looking for a Senior Publicity Manager with a passion for illustrated books. Reporting to the Head of Publicity you will deliver ambitious publicity campaigns that drive sales for a range of titles across our fashion, photography, lifestyle and V&A lists. You will be working with world-leading figures and with exciting emerging talent in the fields of design and photography. You will also manage a Publicity Executive.
Organised, confident and enthusiastic, you will demonstrate the ability to think strategically and creatively and be comfortable working on multiple campaigns simultaneously. You will enjoy being a key member of a supportive team in a fast-paced environment, building collaborative relationships with authors and the media, and having the opportunity to arrange and attend exciting events.
The role
- Managing all aspects of running publicity campaigns, from planning and execution to evaluation
- Securing targeted coverage across the entire media landscape including print, broadcast and online
- Maintaining productive relationships with all areas of the media and grow your contacts list as required
- Collaborating with external partners – agents, PR agencies, and institutions including museums, galleries and brands
- Planning and managing author events, both in-person and online
- Contributing social media content (events, reviews, etc)
- Providing outstanding author care
- Managing a Publicity Executive
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Solid PR experience in the publishing or cultural sector
- A proven track record delivering effective, integrated and targeted campaigns that drive sales
- An established network of national print, broadcast and online contacts as well as events organisers
- Experience planning live events, from book launches and festival talks to influencer dinners and in-store events
- Highly organized and able to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Proven experience of working with external brands and organisations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good eye for detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time management skills
