Senior Project Editor (12-month fixed-term contract)
We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Senior Project Editor to join our team.
This is a varied and creative role requiring experience of copy-editing and project managing highly illustrated non-fiction books, whether for a trade publisher or a museum or gallery. You will have an excellent degree in an arts or humanities subject; demonstrable interest in the subject areas in which Thames & Hudson publish; and be confident, enthusiastic, diplomatic and an effective communicator. It is essential that you are able to copy-edit and proofread to a high standard; to manage several complex illustrated books simultaneously through every stage of the production process efficiently, calmly and to budget; and to work collaboratively with authors, colleagues and prestigious external partners. You will have strong InDesign skills and an eye and appreciation for good book design. Proficiency in at least one foreign language an advantage.
This is an exciting chance to work on a variety of rewarding projects in close creative collaboration with authors, curators, designers, picture researchers and others as part of a highly creative team. The position is based in central London with the opportunity for flexible working.
