Marketing & Communications Assistant

We are looking for a dynamic, organized and efficient person to join as Marketing & Communications Assistant.

In this role you will assist the Marketing & Communications Director with the administration of the Marketing & Communications Department as well as support the work of the marketers and publicists on specific projects, from helping with the production of trade marketing materials and collating of web sales to researching media contacts and creating press packs. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Director, the role will require you to work closely with all members of the Marketing & Communications team as well as Editorial, Design, Production and Sales.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Diary management and scheduling of meetings
  • Liaising with freelancers
  • Coordinating the organisation of sales conferences with the Sales team
  • Supporting the creation and distribution of sales materials
  • Assisting publicists with collating and sending press packs
  • Researching social influencers in support of marketing campaigns
  • Booking travel and accommodation for author events
  • Occasional attendance at book launches to help welcome guests and sell books
  • Monitoring PR coverage and collating press clippings for authors and agents
  • Circulating campaign updates internally
  • Helping with website updates and providing excellent support to website customers

Experience/Skills Required:

This is an entry-level role which doesn’t require specific experience of marketing or PR. However, the below skills and interests are essential:

  • A demonstrable passion for books and publishing, an interest for the visual arts and a flair for Marketing or PR
  • Methodical and able to manage a varied workload efficiently and within set deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation, and a good eye for detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
