Internship at Thames & Hudson, College Division

Thames & Hudson’s College Publishing division in London is seeking from late August to appoint a paid intern to work on a variety of e-media/digital educational resources in support of its Archaeology and Prehistory textbooks.The work will be varied and require some familiarity with and enthusiasm for such items as PowerPoints; test banks; videos; e-books; art slides and a library of digital images. It will involve close liaison with the College editorial team and offer the opportunity to acquire and hone editorial skills in addition to extending any existing experience of digital media.

An ideal candidate would be a graduate with a keen interest in archaeology. A degree in archaeology, history, or a related field will be a definite advantage. The candidate should have a very keen eye for detail, a readiness to communicate, and a high degree of literacy. Any experience of working with pictures will also be very useful. It will be important to meet deadlines and to be able to work in a highly organized way both collaboratively as well as independently, occasionally under pressure, and to a brief.

The role is part-time, at three days per week, with the possibility of rising to four days if preferred. The position will be for between two to three months, starting as soon as possible. Working hours will be 9:15 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
