Photo Essay: Seaside Photographed

Posted on 24 May 2019

Relive 70 years of life by the coast in our new photo essay, featuring images from 'Seaside Photographed', the accompanying book to Turner Contemporary's new touring exhibition.

Turner Contemporary’s new touring exhibition Seaside Photographed also opens this week, it examines the relationship between photographers, photography and the British seaside from the 1850s to the present. The accompanying book Seaside Photographed, described by the Guardian as ‘marvellous’, features the work of Jane Bown, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Anna Fox, Susan Hiller, Paul Nash and Martin Parr.
