Nikolaus Pevsner

Sir Nikolaus Pevsner (1902–1983) is widely considered one of the most influential writers on the history of architecture in the 20th century. He is best known for his 46-volume series of county-by-county guides, The Buildings of England (1951–74), often simply referred to by his surname.
