Reiko Sudo

Reiko Sudo was born in Ishioka, Ibaraki Prefecture. In addition to Design Director of Nuno Co., Ltd., she is a Professor Emeritus, Tokyo Zokei University. Sudo is the textile design advisor to Ryohin Keikaku, Tsuruoka Textile Industry Cooperative, Yamagata Prefecture, and others. Since 2016, she has served on Ryohin Keikaku’s Advisory Board. Sudo has received numerous awards, including the Mainichi Design Award, Roscoe Award and J I D Category Award. Incorporating traditional Japanese techniques as well as contemporary high-tech textile processes, Sudo’s works are in the permanent collections of MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Victoria & Albert Museum and many other institutions worldwide.
